When the prodigal son left his father and enjoyed being foolish, he eventually came to his senses and returned home. What made him decide to return? He remembered where the truth was, where he felt safe and loved. When our children leave our church every week, I want them to remember where they heard the truth, felt safe, and felt loved. We as a staff, as well as my wife and I, are striving diligently to fill the backpacks of our children with the truth about God so that if they ever decide to leave, they will carry with them all the facts and truth about the love of God. Hi, my name is Alan Hines and I am the Children’s Pastor here at Townsend Church.
My vision is big, but my heart is bigger. I want kids to leave here with a backpack jammed full of Christian truths that they can carry for the rest of their lives. We are called to fill backpacks with God’s love!
